Cheggers tells Balfour Beatty ‘It’s a Knockout’

Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions (BBUS) raised over £4000 at a charity ‘It’s a Knockout’ event on Saturday 24th May, in aid of the National Children’s Charity, NCH, hosted by celebrity presenter Keith Chegwin.

The event, held at Derby Rugby Football Club, was organised by the BBUS Charity Committee, in association with Graham Fishers International It's a Knockout team.

Over 150 employees and suppliers took part in the ten It's a Knockout, bringing their friends and family along to support them during the day.

Brent Mitchell, Head of Support Services and chairman of the BBUS Charity Committee spoke about the event: "It was a fantastic occasion for our employees and suppliers to raise thousands of pounds for charity and of course to have fun in the process.

"Our employees take part in a range of charity and community events throughout the year, which gives everyone taking part the opportunity to give something back to the communities in which they work."

The company raised more than £16,000 last year for NCH, Balfour Beatty's charity partner for 2007/08, at an annual charity ball and was named the number one fund raising operating company at Balfour Beatty during 2007.
