BBUS PROUD TO BE PLATINUM SPONSOR AT CHARITY RACE NIGHT FOR WATERAID

BBUS was delighted to have been chosen as Platinum sponsors at the WaterAid Gala Dinner and Race Night, which raised over £29,000.

The event, held at the Millennium Grandstand at Newmarket Racecourse on 29th January, gathered 240 people together from Anglian Water's partners, suppliers and their guests, to raise money for the international charity.

WaterAid enables the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods and form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty.

For only £15 a lasting supply of water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people can be provided. The £29,000 raised will go a long way to change the lives of people in Uganda, the country the Committee has chosen to support this year.

The evening was hosted by Derek Thompson, Channel 4's well known racing commentator, who made sure the recorded races were as exciting as the original.

The Anglian Regional WaterAid Committee arranges a number of events throughout the year, such as Race Nights and an Annual Ball, providing entertaining and successful money raising events.
