Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions (BBUS), one of the UK’s leading utility solutions providers, is delighted to have won the 2009 Driver Safety Award (medium sized company fleet) from Brake, the national road safety charity.
Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions (BBUS), one of the UK's leading utility solutions providers, is delighted to have won the 2009 Driver Safety Award (medium sized company fleet) from Brake, the national road safety charity.
The Fleet Safety Forum Awards were held on Thursday 25th June, recognising the achievements of those companies working to reduce incidents on the road.
This is the third successive year that BBUS has been commended by Brake for continued commitment to improving road safety. During the past 12 months, the BBUS team has built on previous achievements, introducing new technologies which aim to improve employee's road awareness and driving skills. These include;
. Behavioural coaching and training, highlighting a psychological based approach to changing attitudes and developing good habits
. Introduction of Greenroad technology
. Regular employee health checks
. Internal promotion of Road Safety Week - UK wide
. Road Safety Roadshow - UK tour
. Well Driven? Stickers incorporating the Brake logo
Brent Mitchell, Head of Support Services said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised for this award from Brake for the third year in a row. As a business we provide infrastructure solutions to the utility industry, therefore the safety of our staff and the general public is of paramount importance to us and our customers. We will continue to work with and support Brake throughout 2009, further reducing the risk to our drivers and making improvements in line with our ZERO HARM campaign."
