Success in the "Claims Initiative" category
BBUS is delighted to have received the award for Claims Initiative of the Year at the 2009 Manchester CII Insurance Awards. The prestigious awards recognise valuable contributions to the insurance industry and emphasise professional and ethical practices.
The BBUS entry was based around our 'Holistic Incident Investigation & Analysis' initiative, which has seen the use of the latest technology and incident reporting processes to enable the highest standards of incident management and claims resolution. The award recognises BBUS' continued devotion to learning from all claims and installing proactive measures to prevent repeat incidents. Innovative techniques that helped to secure the award included the psychometric profiling of our drivers and the use of a rating scale to rank the severity of incidents.
Brent Mitchell, Head of Support Services, said: "This award is the product of a real collaborative effort within BBUS between Support Services, Plant & Transport and most importantly Operations. We are constantly seeking to use innovative techniques and pro-active processes to support our core business."
Chris Hughes, General Manager - Insurance, said: "We are proud to have received this award from such an esteemed body as the Chartered Institute of Insurers. We recognise the external support provided by our insurer and broker that has allowed us to deliver this solution."
The awards ceremony took place at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on 24th September. As well as winning the award for Claims Initiative, BBUS was a finalist in the Training and Development category, for its risk-minimising driver training programme.
