Areas we will be working in are: Woodgate Hill to Heaton Park; Lostock to Speakmans Moor; Speakmans Moor to Heaton Park; Heaton Park to Denton;Denton to Speakmans Moor and the Godley area.

Description of Works

In April 2008 we started work on cleaning and repairing some of the main water pipes that supply customers in parts of Greater Manchester on behalf of United Utilities. We will be working on the Manchester ring main until March 2013. The main is a large water pipeline that circles the outskirts of the city and it supplies up to 560 million litres of water a day to over two million people in Manchester.

The work will be carried out in 6 phases:

Phase 1 - April 2008 to June 2009 - Woodgate Hill to Heaton Park

Phase 2 - September 2008 to June 2009 - Lostock to Speakmans Moor

Phase 3 - July 2009 to March 2010 - Speakmans Moor to Heaton Park

Phase 4 - August 2010 to September 2011 - Heaton Park to Denton

Phase 5 - October 2011 to March 2013 - Denton to Speakmans Moor

Phase 6 - April 2010 to July 2010 - Godley area
